Hello. My name is Dave Vance. I have lived in Parkersburg forseveral years now. I am a graduate of Ravenswood High School, and formerly a full time truck driver. I have been a member of the WV Army National Guard for ten years now, and have been to Iraq twice. The last time I was there, I had some extra money to play with, and, since I have always been interested in photography, I bought all the photo magazines and books I could get ahold of over there and started learning.
I bought an Olympus E-500 kit and fell in love with taking pictures. My fellow troops said I did a fairly good job, so I thought why not take it to the next level. Shortly after returning home, I got a license and started All American Photography. A few friends wanted me to shoot their weddings and I really enjoy the challenge and excitement of the day. But, to me, the best part is seeing the faces of the couple when they see their pictures for the first time, and knowing I created something that will last forever.
I am now working on my Professional Photographers of America certification. I also am attending WVU-P this spring as a Computer Networking major. Learning is an everyday event for me, no matter if I am taking pictures, driving, or just living, so that is my core philosophy.
Never stop learning, never stop doing.
